DIY Easy-to-Follow Instructions:

Follow these simple steps for a flawless application. Always wear protective gear like gloves, safety glasses, and a respirator. Work in a well-ventilated area at around 70°F for best results. Review the full SDS for safety info.

Step 1: Preparation

  • Warm your vehicle or workspace to 70°F for at least an hour.
  • Clean the seams or joints with a surface cleaner like SEM Solve.
  • Sand the area: Use P80 grit on bare metal or P400 grit/a scuff pad on primed/OEM surfaces.
  • Blow off dust, re-clean with surface cleaner, and tack wipe to remove lint.
  • For flexible areas (e.g., roof panels), apply a two-component primer first and let it cure fully. Avoid acid-etch primers to prevent issues like cracking.

Step 2: Mixing

  • Insert the cartridge into a universal manual or pneumatic applicator gun.
  • Remove the cap by prying it off with a screwdriver.
  • Squeeze out product until both components flow evenly (equalize).
  • Attach a static mixer tip (sold separately) and cut the end to your desired bead size.
  • Hold the gun upright until product fills the mixer, then test dispense a small bead to check mixing.

Step 3: Application (Beading Method)

  • Apply the sealer directly into the seam or joint.
  • Smooth it out with a gloved finger, putty knife, or brush for a clean finish.
  • For OEM-like beads, use optional tips like ORBiT for ripples or Versa-Tip for ribbons.
  • Wipe away excess while wet using a VOC-compliant solvent.

Alternative: Spraying

  • If spraying, use a Quick Spray System with a pneumatic applicator to create textured finishes.

Step 4: Finishing

  • Paint immediately with solvent-based coatings or after 15 minutes with waterborne. Scuff lightly if painting later than 24 hours.
  • Let cure fully (1 hour at 70°F) before heavy use.

Tips for Success:

  • Test on a scrap piece first.
  • Store unused product in a cool, dry place - shelf life is 2 years.
  • If recapping, align the shapes on the cap and snap it back on.
